         Benefits of massage therapy

"I've been getting massage for over 20 years and have never felt as good as I do since I've started seeing Bekki. I need deep, deep work for two or two-and-a-half hours. Bekki has no problem doing that and I've never felt better."

- Scott

When most people think of massage, they think of luxury and relaxation. While a massage is indeed luxurious and relaxing, it can be so much more. There are many benefits of professional massage therapy.

By increasing circulation, massage can flush toxins, such as uric and lactic acid, lower levels of cortisol and rush nourishing oxygen to blood and muscle tissue.   This can help reduce blood pressure, enhance a calm and balanced feeling, and promote deeper sleep.

When muscles become tight and short, they can develop stiffness or knots, known as trigger points or adhesions. These areas of tension in turn put pressure on surrounding and supporting muscle groups, causing a snowball effect of tension and soreness.

Bekki will be able to find and help release and soothe these spots. By lengthening the muscle, in time, even postural imbalances can be corrected.  Massage has been shown to help lessen the symptoms of many different disorders such as carpal tunnel syndrome, fibromyalgia, M.S. diabetes, insomnia, and many more that we are living with today.

Benefits will be amplified with regular massage. Bekki will work with you to determine a schedule to best fit your body’s needs.
